Atikah Zata Amani is a photographer based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Her photography explores communities and the connection between people and places. For her, the relationships and collaboration formed with her subjects are important to the image making.
She was born in Jakarta and studied English Literature at the university. A former television journalist, she is now dividing her time photographing, writing, and mothering her young daughter. Some of her works have been published in DestinAsian Indonesia, WhyNow, Narasi TV, and etc. In October 2019 she took part in a collective exhibition titled “Kisah-Kisah Tanah Manusia” in collaboration with Arkademy and World Resources Institute Indonesia at Galeri Salihara, Jakarta, Indonesia.
Parts of her works are represented by INSTITUTE Artist. Some of her projects were exhibited and showcased in Nowness Asia, Angkor Photo Festival 2020, Format21 Format Festival, Mass Issolation Format, Solo Photo Festival 2020. She is currantly enrolling as a mentee of Women Photograph Mentorship Program 2021. She is also listed as Next Up on Diversify Photo.
